Our Club was formed in 1960.  After completing 10 weeks of dance lessons, a small group of people decided to form a club. A contest was held, and the name Coeurly Q's was decided upon. Our name was derived from the first name of our City and the square dance maneuver called Curly Q.

We celebrated 50 years of dancing in 2010!  We have several charter members that are still dancing with us.  They are Norm and Doris Peterson and Elvina Doyle.  Elvina was one of the original signers of the Idaho Federation that incorporated in 1964.  This tradition lives on with Elvina’s teen granddaughter, Justine Brown.  Justine started dancing in 2003, and shortly after decided to try Round Dancing.  Theresa Nichols asked her one evening if she would like to try cueing, and that's all it took.  Today she is a licensed Cuer in Washington and Idaho.  She cued for the Teen Dance at the 2007 Idaho State Festival, and now cues for dances around Idaho and Washington. Justine is a 4th generation Coeurly Q.

The club's first home was Mica Grange, and the members have warm memories of this special place. Other places include Blue Creek Grange, Cougar Gulch Grange, I.O.O.F. Hall, Dalton School Gym, American Legion Hall, Masonic Hall, and the Ivalee Hall.  Now we call home the Harding Family Center in Coeur d' Alene, ID

Our club outfits were in shades of turquoise blue to represent the color of the lake.  At one time, we wore turquoise/white checked dresses for the gals and turquoise vests with white shirts for the guys.

Our record library started small.  We used a portable record player because the speakers could be moved.  Other dances being danced were waltzes, two-steps, varsouviannas, schottisches, and polkas.  (This may be why to this day, the folks of Mica Grange still enjoy a monthly dance of this type!)

We are a very active Family Club and participate in many community activities.  We also have sponsored Club activities such as a picnic, a mystery trip, and other social activities
